Just like that, the end of December — and the end of 2022 — has arrived. The colder temperatures are ideal for indoor celebrations, and Summit County is hosting multiple on New Year’s Eve.
Some restaurants are having Champagne toasts, other venues are playing live music and ski resorts are shooting fireworks off into the air. This list is by no means exhaustive of every business open to watch the ball drop on New Year’s Eve, but it gives a good idea of the entertainment options available.
Concert celebrations
Though not actually on New Year’s Eve, 10 Mile Music Hall is starting the weekend off with a concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30. Then, the venue at 710 Main St., Frisco, will host Shakedown Street. The band has been performing the immense catalog of the Grateful Dead for over 30 years.

That will be followed by 10 Mile’s proper New Year’s Eve bash with Big Richard and Wood Belly at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31. Big Richard is a neo-acoustic super group made up of Bonnie Sims, Joy Adams, Emma Rose and Eve Panning. Wood Belly likewise is bringing the acoustic sound with Chris Weist, Tom Knowlton, Chris Zink, Aaron McCloskey and Taylor Shuck.

Those in the mood for something funkier should check out Warren Station Center for the Arts, 164 Ida Belle Drive, Keystone, to let the good times roll. Local ensemble Split Window, which has opened for Melvin Seals’ JGB and the New Orleans Suspects, will play tunes of New Orleans Saturday. The event will have drink specials, a free photo booth and free party favors while supplies last.
Opener Mike Woodard will perform at 9 p.m. before Split Window takes the stage at 10:15 p.m. Tickets range from $20 to $25 and can be purchased at WarrenStation.com.
Brewery Bashes
Summit County’s local breweries will also have plenty of opportunities to catch live music. The Bakers’ Brewery, 531 Silverthorne Lane, Silverthorne, will have three local bands Saturday. Primal J and the Neanderthals will start with rock and reggae around 9 p.m., then Pinheads will play classic punk and rock hits. Lastly, Pain Door will perform hard rock and heavy metal.
Just down the road, Angry James Brewing Co., 421 Adams Ave., Silverthorne, will host Raez. The soulful rock duo will perform from 6-8 p.m. Saturday.
Over in Frisco, HighSide Brewing is having a disco-themed New Year’s Eve celebration. People can dress in their shiniest party outfit and head to 720 Main St. for music from Horizon line starting at 9 p.m. Saturday.
Broken Compass Brewing’s original taproom, 68 Continental Court, Unit B12, will host the Breckenridge brewery’s New Year’s Eve party. The annual keg drop will return, as will live music from local band Blue River Grass. The festivities begin at 10 p.m. Saturday.

Mountaintop Magic
Following its Christmas Eve celebration, Copper Mountain Resort does a torchlight parade and fireworks display one last time in 2022. The holiday magic begins at 5 p.m. Saturday at Eagle Landing in Center Village with a set from DJ Landry.
Then the torchlight parade down Main Vein by Copper Ski & Ride School instructors happens at 6 p.m. Lastly, fireworks shoot off over the halfpipe at 10 p.m.
In addition to Warren Station’s celebration, Keystone’s River Run Village will have its own festivities. The resort’s torchlight parade and fireworks over the mountain start at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. According to the resort, the base area will have the best for the best viewing.
Breckenridge Ski Resort will also have a torchlight parade on Saturday. A kids event begins at 5 p.m. with the parade at 6 p.m. The parade will travel down Bonaza to Lower American to the Silverthorne run, and optimal viewing from Beaver Run Resort in the Peak 9 base area.
Beaver Run’s Imperial Ballroom will become a VIP lounge from 3-6 p.m. Admission is $125 per couple and includes one bottle of wine per couple, as well as charcuterie. Reservations with a deposit are required at ExploreTock.com/beaverrunresort. The resort will also have a public, no-cover party at the Base Nine Bar with a DJ until 1 a.m.

Restaurant Revelry
Bluebird Market Hall will be hosting its first New Year’s Eve party at 325 Blue River Parkway, Silverthorne, on Saturday, complete with live music, food and drinks. General admission tickets include a buffet featuring wings, sliders and a salad bar from Mighty Burger and Hook and Harvest. It also comes with two drink tickets with the option of wine, Champagne or a local beverage from Steep Brewing and Coffee Co., Angry James Brewing Co. and Breckenridge Distillery.
Guests can also upgrade their packages for more food and beverage options. The Mighty Bar will also be offering a three-tiered Champagne bottle service, cocktails and beer. Tickets range from $50 to $100. Visit BluebirdMarket.co to purchase.
Also in Silverthorne, The Pad’s A-Bar will have vinyl DJ Black Cat performing at 7 p.m. Saturday at 491 Rainbow Drive. The party goes until 10 p.m. for an East Coast ball drop celebration and complimentary Champagne toast.
Another newer restaurant in the county, the Vue Rooftop, will have a New Year’s Eve party at 5 p.m. Saturday. Located at 122 Lake Dillon Drive, Dillon, at the Homewood Suites Hotel, there will be live music from 6-10 p.m. as well as prosecco, cabernet and chardonnay on top of the apres, dessert and kids menus. Reservations are highly recommended.
Continental Divide Winery, 505 S. Main St., Breckenridge is offering a casual New Year’s Eve party at 7 p.m. Saturday. Admission includes charcuterie, music, complimentary glass of wine upon arrival and Champagne toast for the 10 p.m. ball drop in New York City.
