Lining (fabric)

  • 15cm x 20cm (578′′ x 778′′)

  • 2 x 10cm (16cm) (4′′ 614′′).
  • Zipper
  • 1 x 10cm (4 inch)
  • 1 x 30cm (12 inch)
  • Hook and Loop 3/8″ (1 cm)
  • Pins
  • Needle and thread.
  • Sewing machine
  • Cloth iron

Directions:

Cut out (1) 15cm x 20cm, (1) 11cm x 12 cm, and (1) 15cm x 16 cm from your outer layer fabric. Cut out (1) 15cm 20cm (578′′ 778′′), (2) 12cm 15cm (434′′ 578′′), and (2) 10cm 16cm (4′′ 614′′) for your lining. From the pattern provided, cut the interfacing and fuse the interfacing on the wrong side. Cut by adding 3/8 inches to the edge of the interfacing. To make the pocket covers and pockets, iron each pair and sew with hook and loop.

When done, place the pocket cover and pocket on the right side of the outer fabric and sew.  For the zipper, adjust one side on three sides of the outer half with pins. Continue by placing the other side of the zipper on the opposite three sides of the fabric and pinning. On your sewing machine, sew with a seam allowance of 3/8 inch except for the part with the zipper puller. As you go, iron. With your lining, place and stitch them on.  Turn the wallet right side out through the opening and sew the edges, except for the zipper puller.

For the small pocket:

Place the zipper between the outer and lining of the zippered pocket and sew. Clip together the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way and sew them together. Then, turn the right side out. Make two side panels. Fold and clip the side panel in half and insert the zip pocket. Sew the side panel on both ends of the zipper pocket. Place the end of the side panel on the lining edge of the wallet by stitching it manually with an overcast stitch. Sew all four sides.  And you’re finished!
